Advancing Respectful Maternity Care (RMC): Insights, Impact, and Future Directions

Join us for a dynamic symposium exploring the evolution of Respectful Maternity Care (RMC)—from the launch of the RMC Framework, EBG, and Toolkit to key findings from the multisite study. Discover how we’re expanding resources, developing a Train-the-Trainer program, and building an RMC Designation Program to ensure the sustainability of RMC initiatives. Gain insights, strategies, and a vision for advancing RMC in practice.

 OBJECTIVES: 

  • Synthesize the evolution of AWHONN’s Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) framework, integrating evidence-based guidelines, clinical practice recommendations, and implementation strategies.
  • Analyze key findings, challenges, and best practices from RMC implementation efforts, including a two-year multi-site study and the train-the-trainer pilot.
  • Evaluate strategies for expanding and sustaining RMC initiatives through training, collaboration, and designation programs.
